Hinweise

Cassandra Gemini is misprinted on CD as "Cassandra Geminni" (spelling correct according to the vinyl and band's official website). The song is also divided into eight arbitrary divisions (having little to do with the divisions shown on the packaging) in order to designate it as an album. Their original idea to make it five tracks - corresponding to the five characters in the story - would have designated it as an EP and they would have been paid as such. If purchasing the album via iTunes, the number of songs is five with "Cassandra Gemini" as one track totaling 32:32

(They really wanted to do six acts and started the album with "Frances the Mute" but it would have made it a double CD, of which Universal disapproved. The lyrics to "Frances the Mute" appears in the CD tray and the actual song was released as a UK CD and US vinyl single).

On the back of the CD is an outline of each character's song. This is not correspond to the number of tracks on the actual CD. The outline [with appropriate track numbers] is reprinted here:

I. Cygnus.... Vismund Cygnus
A. Sarcophagi
B. Umbilical Syllables
C. Facilis Descenus Averni
D. Con Safo
II. The Widow
III. L' Via L' Viaquez
IV. Miranda That Ghost Just Isn't Holy Anymore
A. Vade Mecum
B. Pour Another Icepick
C. Pisacis (PHRA-MEN-MA)
D. Con Safo
V. Cassandra Gemini
A. Tarantism
B. Plant a Nail in the Naval Stream
C. Faminepulse
D. Multiple Spouse Wounds
E. SarcophagiThe CD packaging specifies the fifth track name as Cassandra Geminni. However, the artist website and the vinyl release of this album specify its name as Cassandra Gemini. The movements of this track (Tarantism / Plant A Nail In The Navel Stream / Faminepulse / Multiple Spouse Wounds / Sarcophagi) listed here do not align with the track splits on CD (tracks 5-12).

What is important is what makes this album so brutally brilliant. Call it what you will, but be sure to have finished your homework before tackling this gnarled swamp thing. For 2005's Frances the Mute, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and Cedric Bixler-Zavala worked principally with their touring band, but joining the band for selected moments are strings, horns, electronic programming, pals Flea and John Frusciante, and the coqui frogs of Puerto Rico. Frances the Mute Q&A. Frances the Mute started as a bigger commercial hit than De-Loused, moving 123,000 copies in its first week, and debuting at No. Based off of various story-lines from past band members as well as fictional characters, Frances the Mute is a jazz infused, messy and somewhat psychotic rock n' roll masterpiece. Product description. But the Mars Volta are also a band in the truest, bluest sense of the word, and their strong unity. All the superfluous noise and electronic soundscapes are either shortened the Mute is the second studio album by American progressive rock band The Mars Volta released on March 1, 2005 on Gold Standard Laboratories and Universal. There are no song breaks, making the track listing more of an outline. Frances the Mute. The album also includes contributions from future saxophonist Adrián Terrazas-González, who joined the band during its subsequent tour. Produced by guitarist and songwriter Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, the album incorporates dub, ambient, Latin and jazz influences, and is the first to feature bassist Juan Alderete and percussionist Marcel Rodriguez-Lopez. Though not as commercially successful as De-loused in the Comatorium, it received considerable critical praise. On April 14, 2009, the Mars Volta announced their fifth studio album, entitled Octahedron. Opting out of the sudden explosiveness of their previous ventures for the most part, The Mars Volta instead practice sweeping epicness. My, My, My . But all of that is relatively unimportant. The album's lyrics often jump from Spanish to English. With no apologies, Frances the Mute- The Mars Volta's new 77-minute, five-track, gratuitously subdivided, and feebly narrated album- is for him. Any possible strides in technical proficiency are showcased in brazenly flown-from-the-rafters pandering. Listen free to The Mars Volta Frances the Mute The Widow, L' Via L' Viaquez. Brilliant and unique. It was released June 23 in the United States and June 22 in the rest of the world. The album, both as a whole and broken into pieces, works flawlessly. Frances the Mute is the second studio album by American progressive rock band The Mars Volta released in February 2005 on Gold Standard Laboratories and Universal. Mars Volta - Frances the Mute CD. The Mars Volta had, of course, entranced me with the highly energetic De-Loused in the Comatorium, which in retrospect sounds just as close to their At the Drive-In days as it does this album. The album also includes contributions from future saxophonist Adrián Terrazas-González, who joined the band during its. The album's lyrics often jump from Spanish to English. 4 on the Billboard album charts. 2 tracks 18:11. This album just picks you up and takes you into a new world of musical abnormality and mystery. I'm reluctant to say Bixler-Zavala and Rodriguez-Lopez have become better musicians in the two years since De-Loused was released. On a purely personal level, Frances the Mute nearly accomplishes that with me. Frances the Mute is the second studio album by progressive rock band The Mars Volta released in the US on March 1, 2005
