Talkie Walkie is the third studio album by French electronic music duo Air. It was released on 26 January 2004 by Virgin Records. Alone in Kyoto was included on the soundtrack to the 2003 film Lost in Translation, and Run was used in both the Veronica Mars episode Nobody Puts Baby in a Corner and the 2004 French film Lila Says. Talkie-walkie means walkie-talkie in French. Air - Talkie Walkie - Live 2004. Язык: Русский. Страна: США. Talkie Walkie is the fourth full-length album by Air, released on January 27, 2004. The album was possibly named after the song Le Talkie Walkie by Serge Gainsbourg, a known influence of the duo. Talkie Walkie Q&A. Talkie Walkie is an ambient dance record which exists on a seperate plane than it's peers. The album is minimalistic, and spacey, and Air is able to use that as an asset rather than a hinderance, as every single sound is critical to the feel of the song. The songs lack depth, and many can be written off as pretty pop tunes, but there is something special in the music that puts them in another strata when it comes to electronic pop. Hence, Air and Talkie Walkie. It's a good album put together by two French electronica artists and I think highly of it. Well done. Would I buy it again or buy another Air album No. But, it's nice to have in my collection and whenever I might have guests who like electronic and prefer the softer and more mellow, out comes Air. Air returns to form with their newest effort Walkie Talkie. While 10,000hz Legend was patch in places, Walkie Talkie effectivly conjures up a cohesive album. Building on their penchant for futuristic music, the duo turns to create some of the best ambient electronic music here. This time round, a fair bit of vocals are done by the duo which is rather pleasing. Talkie Walkie may mollify Air's overt Frenchness, but should in no way be deemed a sudden opening of the soul. In their insular way, Air have always been soul. They've simply grown more cosmopolitan, and not just in their solubility with vodka, Cointreau and cranberry. Artistic development doesn't always improve an artist's work, as the members of Air discovered when their second album, 2001's 10,000 Hz Legend, disappointed fans and critics expecting another pop masterpiece to rank with their debut, Moon Safari. 10,000 Hz Legend buried the duo's clear melodic sense underneath an avalanche of rigid performances, claustrophobic productions, and a restless experimentalism that rarely allowed listeners to enjoy what they were hearing
